Meet Our Designers

We have a professional design team to assist you in planning for and making your outdoor living space a reality. Our estimators will listen to your ideas and needs, design a plan to complement your site and implement the construction and maintenance of that design for your enjoyment.

Matthew Gruver

Matthew Gruver joins the Hively team after 3 years working at a local Garden Center and Landscaping company in the York area. He is born and raised locally, so he has an understanding for what plant material will prosper in our region. Matt’s favorite projects often involve converting backyards into outdoor living space for families to spend great times together.

Matt received his bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg University. He is an accredited Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturalist, which ensures he can make qualified suggestions about what will work for your landscape and your particular situation. In addition, he regularly attends conferences on topics including; better customer service, plant selection, and garden themes. Matt also has his Pesticide Certification License combined with a summer working for a Penn State Research Facility.

Because of these experiences, he can identify many insect and disease problems at your house, and suggest ways to fix them. With Matt’s commitment to continuing education and keeping up with the latest trends, you can feel confident that you are working someone whose industry knowledge is amongst the finest in our region.

So we hope you will allow Matt to walk through your garden and discuss ideas to spruce it up. Once he is finished, you can be the neighbor bragging about your landscape.
