Team Spotlight: Jeff Barker

We wanted to help you get to know the team behind the great reputation at Hively Landscapes with our team spotlight series. Jeff Barker, Senior Crew Leader/Yard Captain, was kind enough to join us on the hot seat and answer a few questions.

Q: What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
A: The one thing I couldn’t live without is my family.
Q: What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
A: The coolest most important trend I see today is standing up for what’s right, or against what’s wrong for the greater good. #resist.
Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: My greatest fear is to have to bury one of my children or future grandchildren.
Q: Where is your favorite place to be?
A: I have several favorite places. Wherever my family is when we get together to have fun. Out in nature. The beach with my family and hunting, fishing, foraging and farming.
Q: Any random facts you could share with us?
A: I was a chef before I started doing this line of work.
Q: Where would you like to go on a dream vacation?
A: Take my wife for 2 weeks to northern Italy where her family immigrated. Lots of food and wine and beautiful times.
Q: What’s your favorite childhood memory?
A: Before the tragedy that happened to my mom during my sister’s (they’re triplets)birth. All of them that I can recall. Learning to swim, playing hide and seek in the house, going to Longwood Gardens, family get togethers. All of it.
Q: If you were on death row, what would your last meal be?
A: Seafood paella with a venison backstrap steak(rare), grilled asparagus with a citrus compound butter, fresh baked Portuguese bread with honey butter, a couple dark beers(Guinness), a bottle of merlot and a cherry coke or 2, my chocolate mousse with fresh berries.
